Determination of CNC processing route

- 2024-05-29-

The CNC lathe feed processing route refers to the path that the turning tool moves from the tool reference point (or the fixed origin of the machine tool) until it returns to the point and ends the processing program, including the cutting processing path and the non-cutting idle travel path such as tool cutting in and out.

The feed route for finishing is basically carried out in sequence along the contour of the part. Therefore, the focus of determining the feed route is to determine the feed route for roughing and idle travel.

In CNC lathe processing, the determination of the processing route generally follows the following principles.

1. It should be able to ensure the accuracy and surface roughness of the workpiece being processed.

2. Make the processing route as short as possible, reduce the idle travel time, and improve processing efficiency.

3. Try to simplify the workload of numerical calculations and simplify the processing program.

4. For some reusable programs, subroutines should be used.
